Save Kurunji Hills…

The Nilgiris (Neela Malai in Tamil),

nestled in the mountainous region of Tamil Nadu, is standing tall with beautifully decked by

carpets of ornamental Kurunji flowers.

It is indeed an unique

treasure house of information.

The records of this excellent

Biosphere region are there continuously from

pre-historic stone age period,

through monarchy period,

the British rule and finally onto the

present- day political setup.

Water resources in the Nilgiris, the South India’s water reservoir are getting reduced to an alarmng level. Efforts should be made atleast now to preserve the natural resources. The time has come to prevent the Kurunji Hills, the oxygen factory,

from losing its green lung capacity.
